March 5th, 2021 – Training is well underway for the Town of Islip Public Safety Division's Peace Officer program.
The New York State approved program is taught by Town of Islip certified instructors. Candidates spend 130 hours of part academic, part physical training, consisting of classroom instruction in criminal procedural and penal law; ethics; communication; daily defensive tactics; physical training; Narcan training; CPR and First Aid.
This is the Town's fourth consecutive program. Peace Officers will graduate later this month.
