June 23rd, 2021 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter visited Long Island MacArthur Airport to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Southwest Airlines service to the industry. Supervisor Carpenter presented Southwest Airlines’ General Manager Ed Concillio with a citation of recognition acknowledging the airlines’ contributions to air travel.
“We value our long-standing partnership with Southwest Airlines, and wish them 50 more years of service and success,” said Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
Southwest Airlines has been an invaluable asset to Long Island MacArthur Airport since 1999. The airline offers several nonstop destinations from the airport, including its most recent nonstop flight to Nashville, Tennessee.
Supervisor Carpenter was joined by MacArthur Airport Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken; Deputy Commissioner Robert Schneider; Southwest Airlines General Manager Ed Concillio and representatives from Southwest Airlines.
