A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

August 5th, 2021 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, Councilmen John Cochrane, Jr., James O’Connor and Councilwoman Mary Kate Mullen, recently attended the Broadway Avenue Field ribbon cutting in Sayville, to celebrate the installation of new turf infields.

The new fields, installed by The Landtek Group, will be part of a multi-year plan to place more turf fields throughout the Town of Islip to be utilized by a variety of groups, including youth leagues. The field was designed so that leagues at various levels are able to utilize them.

“Families will create lasting memories watching their children play on Broadway Ave., and we look forward to bringing new fields like this one to communities throughout the Town. On behalf of the members of the Town Board, we’re grateful to our partners at The Landtek Group who helped to make this possible,” said Supervisor Carpenter.

The standard diamond markings, as well as other markings appropriate for intermediate and little league play, make the field available for players at any age or skill level. In addition to the new fields, new concrete dugouts, backstops and fencing were installed.

Joining Supervisor Carpenter and members of the Islip Town Board from (l. to r.) were: Councilman John Cochrane Jr., former Little League parent Andy Wittman; Councilman James O’Connor; Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter; Councilwoman Mary Kate Mullen; Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and DPW Commissioner, Thomas Owens; Mike Ryan, The Landtek Group; Jonathan Stocker, Town of Islip Parks and Recreation Management Analyst; Dennis Barravecchio, Town of Islip Parks & Recreation Maintenance Crew Leader.
