A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

August 13th, 2021 WFAN Sports Radio and CBS Sports Network took over The LakeHouse in Bay Shore Friday, for a LIVE remote broadcast of its popular show "Boomer and Gio." The broadcast was part of the annual "Boomer and Gio" Boat Party.

Boomer Esiason is a former NFL quarterback and Town of Islip resident. He is a graduate of East Islip High School, class of 79' and is the founder of the Boomer Esiason Foundation which raises money for Cystic Fibrosis research. His co-host Gio (Gregg Giannotti) currently resides in the Town of Islip.

The hosts commented on their love for the waterfront. "The reason why we wanted to do this here, is because we knew that people around the country would get a chance to see what this place looks like and how beautiful it is, and I think CBS has captured that," said Boomer Esiason. "You're both Town of Islip boys. We couldn't be more proud. You can take the boy out of the bay, but you can't take the bay out of the boy," said Supervisor Carpenter.

After the broadcast, the flotilla traveled from Bay Shore to the Connetquot River in Oakdale for a musical performance on the river.

Joining Supervisor Carpenter, Boomer Esiason and Gio were members of the Town of Islip's Public Safety Division headed by Commissioner, Anthony Prudenti; Deputy Commissioner, Rich Bastidis; Fire Island Ferries Manager, Dave Anderson and Town Attorney, JR Dicioccio.
