August 27th, 2021 –Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter visited rising competitive golfers of the Met PGA Junior Tournament at Gull Haven Golf Course this week. The Golfers ranged in age from 10 to 18 and played a 9-hole game at Gull Haven Golf Course, one of three golf courses owned and operated by the Town of Islip.
“It is so exciting to see talented young golfers follow their passion and compete at this level,” said Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “The game of golf fosters life-long skills, including teaching responsibility and discipline, honesty, emotional control and patience, and will serve these young athletes well in their future,” added the Supervisor.
Supervisor Carpenter met with a few of the junior professionals at the Tournament including Gabrielle DeBono, Julianna Tapia and Joe Tammaro. She was also joined with The Gull Haven Golf Pro Vincent Cirino.
