December 10th, 2021 – Christmas came early for the members of the Suffolk Detachment Marines Corps League in Bay Shore, who discovered an abundance of anonymously donated toys on the steps of its Bay Shore office recently. Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, Councilman John C. Cochrane, Jr. and Town of Islip Youth Bureau Director, Tim Mare, were joined by members of the Suffolk Detachment Marines Corps League who graciously donated the toys to the Town of Islip “Marines Toys for Tots” toy drive. Games, dolls, cars, and stuffed animals were among the many gifts that will be distributed through the program to children within the Town of Islip community.
“Every year the Town’s Youth Bureau partners with Toys for Tots to conduct this annual Toy Drive, and hundreds of children’s holidays are brightened by the generous contributions of organizations like this,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
Gifts can be dropped off at the Town of Islip Youth Bureau, located at Town Hall West, 401 Main Street, Islip, or to the Office of Supervisor Angie Carpenter, located at 655 Main Street, Islip. The Toy Drive runs until December 17th, 2021.
