July 21st, 2022 – Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined residents at West Islip Beach recently for a Family Night commemorating the 8th anniversary of Madeline’s Playground. The event is held annually in celebration of Madeline Hsu’s birthday, who was among the victims lost in the tragic events at Sandy Hook Elementary.

The community honored her memory with a night of family-oriented fun, featuring assorted games, face painting, food trucks and more. Madeline’s Playground opened in West Islip in 2014 in association with the Where Angels Play Foundation.
