July 21, 2022 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined Park and Recreation Deputy Commissioner Carol Charchalis to celebrate WWII Veteran Nicholas Della Valle’s 100th Birthday.

Nicholas joined the United States Air Forces during the Second World War serving as an Engineer Mechanic and Crew Chief of the B-26 Bomber 1298 Twin Engine. He would go on to serve in the Pacific War as a Corporal and Aerial Gunner on the B-25, contributing to the efforts that enabled the Allied Forces to emerge victorious.
