A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

Supervisor Carpenter joins with construction crews helping to build the museum

May 9th, 2019– Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Town Councilman John Cochrane attended the Steel Topping Out and Beam Signing Ceremony at the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Navy Seal Museum and Sea Cadet Training Facility this week.

The Museum and Sea Cadet Training Facility, located in West Sayville, is expected to be a world-class, state-of-the-art facility which will provide multiple opportunities to meet, interact with and learn about the SEAL Community, through films, videos and displays that will honor and promote the ideals and values associated with the Special Warfare Operators.

"This museum is a fitting tribute to the life and legacy of Lt. Murhpy, and to those who have served and continue to serve our country," said Supervisor Carpenter.

The Museum's mission is to preserve and share the history and honor of the Navy SEALS who have bravely served and continue to serve our nation, and to ensure that we, as Americans, never forget their honor, their sacrifices and their commitment to our country's freedom.
