September 26th, 2022 – The Stroke & Brain Aneurysm Center of Long Island at Good Samaritan Hospital is celebrating its 5th anniversary, in which they have treated more than 7,000 patients.
The facility is one of the highest certified and recognized stroke centers in the region, and is located in West Islip, in the Town of Islip. The Stroke & Brain Aneurysm Center of Long Island at Good Samaritan Hospital rivals those of New York City institutions.
"World class care is available right here in West Islip, eliminating the need to have to travel to NYC or even New Jersey, in order to receive the highest level of care. This center is the only Comprehensive Designated Stroke Center on Long Island, recognized by both the Joint Commission and the New York State Department of Health," said Islip Supervisor, Angie Carpenter.
It was only 13 months from the time the program started, that the first comprehensive stroke designation was given to the Stroke & Brain Aneurysm Center of Long Island at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Good Samaritan Hospital is the recipient of the American Heart Assoc “Get with The Guidelines” Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award and Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Good Samaritan Hospital also received the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Advanced Therapy Award.
