For the fourth consecutive year, Northwell Health has partnered with the Town of Islip and the Town of Babylon, to shine a spotlight on the importance of breast cancer screening through 'Pink by the Bay.' This month-long annual event engages local businesses, community-based organizations and residents to light their homes, storefronts and local streets with pink lights, bows, flags and signage, reminding everyone of the importance of breast cancer screenings.Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter was joined by Islip and Babylon Town elected officials; South Shore University Hospital Executive Director, Donna Moravick and members of local breast cancer coalitions during the towns' joint kick-off of Pink by the Bay.
"Early detection truly is the best prevention, and I am urging all women and men to speak with their healthcare providers and discuss when they should begin screening. And, if you feel something, say something. Early detection can change the course of your treatment," said Supervisor Carpenter.
