A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

December 7th, 2022 Breeze Airways, the Seriously Nice™ low-fare airline founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, today announced two new Florida destinations from Long Island MacArthur Airport.

New Routes from Islip/Long Island, NY, to:

  • Jacksonville, FL (BreezeThru service on Fri, Sat and Mon, starting May 19); and
  • Tampa, FL** (BreezeThru service on Fri and Mon, starting August 18).

Breeze currently offers nonstop flights from Islip to both Charleston, SC, and Norfolk, VA, as well as BreezeThru service to New Orleans, LA. The Jacksonville route will stop briefly in Norfolk (for 30 minutes) en route to Florida while the Tampa service will make a similarly quick stop in Charleston on the way. The Tampa route will be operated with Airbus A220 aircraft with First Class seating available, a first for Breeze at Long Island MacArthur.

“These two new routes bring the total Breeze Airways offerings to five exciting destinations to and from Long Island MacArthur Airport, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share in this announcement. We value our airline partners, and look forward to adding even more destinations in the future,” said Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter.

“We’re delighted to see Breeze make additional options available to our customers at Long Island MacArthur Airport. These new destinations offer fun and easy getaways for Long Islanders. They also make it convenient for travelers from all five Breeze destinations to visit the many attractions located here on Long Island,” said MacArthur Airport Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken.
