February 28th, 2023 – Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter presented South Shore University Hospital and Good Samaritan University Hospital each with checks for $225 to their respective heart health research programs. The monies were raised through the Town’s annual “Wear Red Day” during the American Heart Association’s signature women’s initiative, Go Red for Women platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness.

Town employees donated $5 to the cause, raising a total of $450 for two local hospitals.
“Employees look forward to participating in Wear Red Day, and similar fundraising events throughout the year. It’s our way of giving back to our community,” said Islip Supervisor, Angie Carpenter.
Supervisor Carpenter presented a check to Angela Capone, South Shore University Hospital and to Justin Jaycon, Good Samaritan University Hospital.
