April 28th, 2023 – Play Ball! The Central Islip Little League celebrated the 2023 season along with a new 90’ turf field at Opening Day ceremonies recently.

Central Islip Little League, which began in 1955, runs youth and adult baseball leagues, fastpitch softball leagues, year-round camps and clinics. Hundreds of kids participate in the league’s travel baseball, travel fastpitch and Little League Williamsport programs.

Joe Hennie, League President since 2014, was recognized by Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter; Councilman James O’Connor and Tom Owens, Commissioner, Town of Islip Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and DPW.

“Congratulations to the players and organizers of this long-standing league. We are delighted to celebrate the installation of this new turf field with all of these wonderful players and their coaches, and we wish you an incredible season,” said Islip Supervisor, Angie Carpenter.
