June 13th, 2023 – Doug Jansen, Golf Professional at the Brentwood Country Club was recognized Tuesday at the June Islip Town Board meeting. Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter alongside the Islip Town Board, congratulated Mr. Jansen for recently being named the Metropolitan PGA 2022 Merchandiser of the Year Award (Public).

“Doug is a talented and dedicated golf professional who has earned the respect of his peers and all of us here at the Town of Islip,” said Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “We are so fortunate to have had Doug as part of the Town of Islip team for more than three decades, and it is our honor to recognize him for the success, expertise and recognition that he continues to bring to our Town and the game of golf.”

The PGA honors PGA Professionals in three categories: Private, Public and Resort facilities. The Merchandiser of the Year Award is designed to recognize those PGA Professionals who have excelled as business persons/merchandisers in the promotion of golf.
