July 24th, 2023 – Laura Amato was born on June 14, 1932 in Manhattan. She met her husband Mathew through a family friend, and they were married for 39 years. They have two children, Vinnie and Frankie. Frankie and his wife Joanne have two children, and they live next door to Laura. She loves cooking for them.

Laura has lived in West Islip for 65 years, where she was a homemaker, and cared for her grandchildren. Laura has been a member of the Deer Lake Club for over 25 years. She looks forward to seeing her friends every week, playing Bingo and going to parties. "From all of us here at the Town of Islip, Happy Birthday Laura!" said Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter.
