The Town of Islip hosted it's 9/11 Memorial Ceremony in front of Town Hall marking the 22nd anniversary of that fateful day. Residents, loved ones, firefighters, EMS, civic leaders, school district and elected officials turned out for the somber event, paying tribute to the 90 lives lost in the Town of Islip; to the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice; to those who have lost their lives since, due to post 9/11 adverse health effects, and to others still suffering today, both physically and mentally.
