October 18th, 2023 – The Town of Islip is fortunate to have many dedicated and civic minded individuals who devote their time to improve, serve, and safekeep the Town.
This week, the Town paid tribute to the volunteer firefighters who have devoted an extraordinary 50+ years of service. Many of these men have served in their departments as Commissioners, Chiefs, Captains, and all of them have been an inspiration to the younger members who share in their wisdom.
“They have witnessed the growth of our community over the course of half a century, have adapted to changing circumstances and growing needs, and have not failed to rise to meet the unique challenges of their departments in order to best serve in their communities. Please join me in recognizing their profound dedication and excellence,” said Islip Supervisor, Angie Carpenter.
