– Patrons of the Town of Islip’s five senior centers were recognized at the annual Senior Volunteer Breakfast at Brookwood Hall recently. Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter presented each of the volunteers with a certificate on behalf of the Town Board.“Our volunteers certainly are the backbone of our Senior Centers. It’s the smiling faces, energy and kindness of our volunteers that are the reason our members keep coming back, and that our Senior Centers are enjoyed by so many,” said Islip Supervisor, Angie Carpenter.
Volunteers were honored from the Ronkonkoma Senior Center; Oakdale Senior Center; West Islip Senior Center; Joyce Fitzpatrick Senior Center in East Islip and the Caesar Trunzo Senior Center in Brentwood.
“I’d like to thank each and every one of you for all that you do. On behalf of the Town Board, please know that you’re like family to us, and we wish you good health and happiness, always,” said Supervisor Carpenter.
