– In response to community complaints and a history of illegally parked vehicles on Suffolk Avenue in Brentwood, Suffolk County Police Third Precinct officers partnered with Town of Islip Public Safety officials to remove more than a dozen illegally parked vehicles today.Thirteen vehicles, none of which displayed license plates, were impounded by the Town of Islip. Some of the vehicles were parked in no parking zones and one was blocking a fire hydrant. Additionally, 11 illegally parked vehicles were removed voluntarily by the owners.
"I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Suffolk County Police Department and our Town of Islip Public Safety officers for their diligent efforts in addressing this issue and ensuring our streets remain safe and accessible for all residents," said Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law requires number plates be affixed to vehicles parked on public roadways and all other parking regulations must be followed to avoid possible enforcement action and having a vehicle impounded.
