August 6th, 2019- Town of Islip officials celebrated the grand opening of a new trailer for its summer camp at Byron Lake Park this week.
Town of Islip campers received a visit from Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter, Councilwoman Mary Kate Mullen, and Receiver of Taxes Alexis Weik, along with Tom Owens, Commissioner of DPW & Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and Deputy Commissioner Deirdre Whalberg, at a Ribbon Cutting ceremony unveiling a new trailer at Byron Lake Park in Oakdale.
The new, double-wide trailer includes a bathroom, central air conditioning, and spacious decking with seating for shaded lunches and kids' arts and crafts outdoors. The new trailer replaces two outdated 20 year-old single-wide trailers.
"The staff of our Parks and DPW divisions are to be commended for the craftsmanship of the beautiful decking at this new facility. It will provide hours of fun for children of all ages," said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
