August 14th, 2019 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined Nancy Cochran, Executive Director of Keep Islip Clean, Tom Owens, Commissioner Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs & DPW, Deputy Commissioner Deirdre Whalberg, and members of Girl Scout Troop 1106 this week, for a dedication ceremony to unveil the Scouts’ latest project, a painted can project. The girls of Troop 1106 each decorated their own can that will be placed throughout parks within the Town of Islip.
“We’re delighted to partner with the Girls Scouts and KIC by placing these colorful cans throughout our Town. They’re a cheerful reminder to keep our parks clean,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
Also attending the dedication ceremony was Pat Brinkmann, who supplied the girls with the paint and materials needed to complete the project, and Suffolk County Legislator William Lindsay.
