November 21st, 2019 – Former NYC Transit Chief, Joseph Fox, conducted a two-day training exercise with Town of Islip Public Safety officials this week. The topic, "7 Habits of Highly Effective People," focuses on building and sustaining positive relationships by facilitating a better understanding of a person’s role in various personal and professional relationships.
The course is based on Stephen R. Covey's book by the same name published in 1989, which has sold more than 24 million copies, and remains as relevant today as it did then. The 7 Habits are applicable to all people in their personal and professional lives, according to the author.
"The Town of Islip strives to move the needle in employee growth and development," said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter. "This course is one of many we've hosted by Former Chief Fox, and each and every one has been enlightening and well-received by our departments," she added.
