December 3rd, 2019 – Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined the West Islip community as they came together for the WI American Legion Festival of Lights Sunday.
The festive holiday event included a performance by the West Islip HS Kickline; the Presentation of Colors by Girl Scout Unit 17 and Cub Scout Pack 83; Celebration of Hanukkah and Christmas by Youth Enrichment Services; a Holiday Medley by the WI Girl Scouts; lighting of the Christmas Tree and Menorah and much more. Art contest winner Sarah Tiaheny, an 8th grade student at the Beach Street Middle School was recognized for her illustration which became the event's program cover.
"The Festival of Lights and Tree Decoration Ceremony is a symbol of unity and love, and celebrates this special time of year where we make lasting memories with family and friends," said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
