December 12th, 2019 – The Long Island Housing Partnership, in conjunction with Bartone Properties, conducted a Housing Lottery at Islip Town Hall this week. The lottery ranked over 70 applicants that have applied for consideration for an affordable apartment at Cornerstone Hauppauge.
Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Bill Mannix, Islip IDA Executive Director participated in the lottery drawing. Cornerstone Hauppauge is a new, affordable 1-2 bedroom, senior rental development for residents 55 and over. Ten of the property's 98 units will be leased as affordable, to households whose incomes are at or below 60% of the HUD Area Median Income for Suffolk County.
"It gives us great joy, especially during the holiday season, to be part of helping families create a home where memories can be made that last a lifetime," said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter. "We wish each of and every one of these families all the best," she added.
On hand for the event were representatives from the LIHP and Bartone Properties.
