December 20th, 2019 – The Islip Town Board named Islip High School student Stephen Plotke to the Islip Town Environmental Council (ITEC) Board.
Plotke is an active member of the Islip community, and as a 5th generation Islip resident, has demonstrated a vested interest in keeping Islip environmentally clean and exquisitely beautiful. He is a member of Keep Islip Clean (KIC), volunteering in KIC's Brooke Street and Islip Beach clean-ups, as well as volunteering in the Seatuck Environmental Association's Eco-Carnival.
Plotke will be advancing to the Scouts BSA rank of Life this fall, and will soon be working on his Eagle Scout project. "By joining ITEC, I will be more knowledgeable in what can be accomplished by my Eagle Scout Project in the beautification and environmental cleanliness of Islip," said Plotke.
"Stephen is a hard-working young man. We look forward to collaborating with him to keep Islip at the forefront of the environmental issues that affect us today, and generations to come," said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
