December 20th, 2019 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, Councilwoman Mary Kate Mullen, along with members of the Town Board, recognized the women of the Bayport-Blue Point Varsity Field Hockey and Volleyball teams, for earning the Suffolk County Championship Titles in both sports recently.

This was the second consecutive win for the women's volleyball team, and the first for the field hockey team.

"Congratulations to both teams on your accomplishments," said Coucilwoman Mullen. The councilwoman, whose daughter plays on the field hockey team, said the 1-0 win for the title was a nail biter.

“We are so proud of you here within the Town of Islip, and I know the whole Bayport-Bluepoint community is extremely proud. You have brought on a whole new era of young girls who want to play field hockey,” said the Councilwoman.
