April 9th, 2020 – Danny Tran, owner of Islip Cleaners and Tailors, and Mareia Vargas, are sewing masks in colors inspired by Easter eggs.
The masks are being donated to local nursing homes, and are for sale to his customers. This week Tran said he donated 100 masks to Our Lady of Consolation Nursing and Rehabilitative Care Center in West Islip. "I just don't want to sit back and do nothing," he said. Tran said with many businesses closed, the challenge is finding elastic to complete the masks.
“Islip Cleaners and Tailors is another example of our wonderful business community banding together to help those in need,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
