June 18th, 2020 – The Town of Islip aired the first in its Monday Night Drive-In Movie Night summer series, with Mary Poppins Returns outside the Westfield Bay Shore Mall this week.
More than 250 carloads of families turned out for the event under cotton candy colored June skies. "This is an incredible kick-off to what we anticipate will be a family favorite this summer," said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter. "While COVID-19 has reshaped the way we experience our summer temporarily, it has given us the chance to bring back family pastimes, like beloved Drive-In movies," added the Supervisor.
Monday Night Drive-In Movie Night will take place at various locations in hamlets throughout the Town until mid-September. Follow us on Facebook, on Instagram thetownofislip and @TownofIslip on Twitter for the upcoming schedule.
Monday Night Drive-In Movie Night is graciously sponsored by Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, and was presented by the Town of Islip Division of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, under the direction of Commissioner, Tom Owens, Deputy Commissioner Deirdre Whalberg and staff.
