June 19th, 2020 – The Town of Islip accepted 25,000 pieces of PPE this week, consisting of gowns, goggles and gloves.
"This PPE will prove valuable to our food delivery service personnel, who bring meals to our home bound senior citizen population," said Supervisor Angie Carpenter. The Town of Islip has delivered more than 60,000 in-home meals since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The PPE included 15,000 disposable masks, 9,000 protection suits,1,400 KN95 masks and 50 goggles, and was donated by the China Day Committee Inc., Sino American Commerce Association and the Hong Foundation. The equipment was coordinated and presented by The Long Island Beijing Chamber of Commerce Inc.
