October 9th, 2020 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined with Habitat for Humanity at the dedication of a new home built for single mom Gerene Williams and her daughter Nishell. The Williams were passed the keys to their Bay Shore home at a ribbon cutting ceremony marking the event.

“Owning this home means that I can provide something tangible for my 7 year-old daughter, Nishell. She will have her own space to be free and dream, and it means that with all of you, I can give her a piece of the American dream, something that seemed impossible,” said Gerene Williams. “Being a part of the Habitat Family means that Nishell and I will be surrounded by hard working people that too have shared the same goals and hopes in providing something more for themselves and their families,” she added.

“On behalf of my colleagues on the Town Board, we wish Gerene and Nishell many years of happy memories together in their home,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
