October 23rd, 2020 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and New York State Assemblyman Phil Ramos unveiled plans for the first turf field in the Town of Islip. The field will be constructed at Central Islip Community Park.

The new field will include bleachers and player benches, soccer goals, netting, walkways and amenities. Clearing, excavation and other site preparations are well underway. The field is being made possible through a $500,000 DASNY Grant secured by Assemblyman Ramos coupled with Town of Islip Capital Funds, and is anticipated to be completed by late 2021.

“This is a community that we see a future in, and we are delighted to have such a great partner in Assemblyman Phil Ramos, in helping bring that vision forward, and making this community a place where people can be so proud to call their home,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
