A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

Supervisor Carpenter and Assemblyman Ramos swing on swingset

October 27th, 2020 Today, Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and NYS Assemblyman Phil Ramos announced plans to upgrade Vazquez Park in Brentwood with a new playground structure and swings, the result of a $125,000 DASNY grant secured by Assemblyman Ramos. The playground is expected to be completed by spring 2021, and will be installed on a rubberized play surface, appropriate for children ages 2-12.

“When residents see a park in their neighborhood improved, their quality of life is better, their home value is higher, and it really gives them such a good feeling,” said Supervisor Carpenter.

The replacement of this playground marks more than 50 new playgrounds installed in the Town of Islip since Supervisor Carpenter took office. The existing playground at Vazquez Park is 14 years old, and was installed in 2006.
