November 24th, 2020 – Town of Islip employees from various departments, participated in a one-hour seminar given by Joseph Fox, Executive, Life and Leadership Coach. Fox, a former Chief of the NYC Transit Bureau, shares his insights into leadership from 30 years of experience protecting New York City, and managing thousands of police officers.
Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter welcomed Fox to Islip Town Hall. Fox spoke about the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People to an audience of Town staff, who wore masks and were seated socially distanced.
The seminar focused on; What is leadership?; Communication/Listening Skills; Ego/Humility; Team Building/Motivation/Engagement and Critical Thinking/Decision Making.
“Our employees acquire leadership, management, energy coaching and work/life balance skills among others, which translate into first-rate customer service for our residents,” said Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “Everyone benefits from Joe’s seminar, our staff and the general public,” added Supervisor Carpenter.
