Join the Oakdale Historical Society for the 3rd Annual Civil War Christmas at St. John's Landmark Church on Saturday, December 14th, and enjoy the "hanging of the greens," the BAFFA choir, costumed 67th NY Infantry re-enactors, Christmas tree lighting, costumed St. Nicholas, talks from the Town Historian and much more! Those able are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to assist in brightening the holidays for those in need.

Looking for something to do this summer? The Town of Islip Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs has packed Summer 2019 full of FREE family fun events, with dates beginning in July through October! Come watch classic family-friendly movies under the stars, or enjoy games, music and a bite to eat at any of our Movie Nights, Concerts or Festivals. There's something for everyone, so mark your calendars! Admission is FREE!

Join us at Casamento Park on Friday, August 23rd in West Islip for the last concert of the 2019 Summer season featuring The John Jason Band. The festivities kick-off at 6:00 pm with fun activities for all ages. Create a glass candle holder, paint a sea shell, or be wowed by oversized bubbles! The band will start playing 60's, 70's, country hits and more starting at 7:00 pm. Bring your chairs, blankets, coolers and friends for one last night of music under the Summer stars in the Town of Islip.

Join us on Monday, Aug 26 at Brookwood Hall in East Islip for the last movie in our Summer Fun Series: “School of Rock." A night of fun begins at 6:00 pm with a make your own musical instrument activity, followed by your opportunity to take the stage and school the audience with your karaoke skills! The movie will begin at approximately 7:45 pm. Bring your friends, family, snacks and chairs and be ready for a rockin' good time in the Town of Islip.

Don’t miss your last chance this Summer to cruise the Great South Bay with the Town of Islip, abourd our Lauren Kristy Sunset Dinner Cruise, setting sail this Tuesday, August 27. Enjoy an evening on the bay with a DJ and dancing, a gourmet dinner buffet including Prime Rib and Seafood Newburg, your choice of 2 nonalcoholic or 1 alcoholic drink, and a cash bar.

Join us Thursday, August 29th as we continue our 335th Anniversary Celebration with Family Fun Day at Roberto Clemente Park. Come enjoy music, games and more, and be sure to take a dip in our beautiful new Roberto Clemente Park pool! Free hot dogs will be provided at 3:00 pm courtesy of the Brentwood F.D. Food trucks will arrive on scene starting at 6:00 pm. Bring you friends, family, and bathing suit and help us continue to celebrate our Town's 335th Birthday year with a day of Summer fun at the park!

Join our Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs this Monday, August 19th at the Eastview Ballfields in Central Islip for the next Movie Night in our Summer Fun Series: Bedtime Stories, featuring Adam Sandler.

We've dreamed up a variety of crafts and games beginning at 6:00pm, including the chance to spread the magic of reading through our very own book swap. Food Trucks will arrive at 6:00 pm to begin selling delicious food and treats, followed by our featured presentation at dark. So bring your friends, family, blanket and dreams for a cozy night of bedtime stories in the Town of Islip!

Join the Oakdale Historical Society on Saturday, September 28th at St. John's Landmark Church in Oakdale from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm for the grand set-up of your 2019 entry into this year's March of the Scarecrows. See Rules and Regulations. Scarecrows will remain on display through Saturday, October 5th where 3 cash prize winners will be selected by the community at the Living History Tour event (1 pm – 4pm).
