A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

January 27th, 2022 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and members of the Islip Town Board are urging residents to remove their cars from the road ahead of a winter storm that may result in an accumulation in the region Friday into Saturday.

WATCH NOW: Move Cars Off Town Roads During a Snowstorm

Residents are advised to move their cars into their driveway or onto their lawn if necessary, so that plows can clear the roads safely and efficiently. Should this storm require Town officials to declare a state of emergency, residents are reminded that it is a violation of Town Code to leave a vehicle on the road while the state of emergency is in effect. Leaving a car on the road is dangerous to plow operators and can result in damage to vehicles.
