June 22nd, 2021 – More than 200 cars attended the kick-off to the Town of Islip’s 2021 FREE Summer Drive-in Movie Night, for a showing of The Princess Bride at Byron Lake Park. Families from all over the Town made their way to the park to spend an evening under the stars and watch a classic movie loved by all ages. Generous moviegoers arrived with canned good donations for the Islip Food for Hope Food Pantry.

“This was a great way to kick off the first official day of summer. Not only are families able to enjoy a beautiful night out, but they are helping those affected by food insecurity with their canned good donations,” said Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.Attendees enjoyed food truck and ice cream truck fare. The FREE Monday Night Drive-in Movie Night runs through August 23 at various parks across the Town. The event is sponsored by Catholic Health Services and is presented by the Town of Islip Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs. Gates open at 7pm.
