– This month, Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter and the members of the Islip Town Board were proud to recognize those members of the Town of Italian Heritage during the October Town Board meeting. The following residents were celebrated for their contributions to their communities:

– Three Town of Islip fire departments recently displayed skill and remarkable talent at the 2024 New York State Drill Team Championship, hosted by the Central Islip Fire Department.

– Beautiful fall skies and mild temperatures drew tens of thousands of festival goers to the Town of Islip's 44th annual Apple Fest at the Islip Grange Saturday.
September 19th, 2024 – Town of Islip employees dressed in purple to bring attention to New York State Overdose Awareness Day, September 19th as well as to shine a spotlight on September, National Recovery Month.
September 19th, 2024 – Supervisor Angie Carpenter and the Islip Town Board also had the honor in September of recognizing Ronkonkoma resident, Diego Rios, who has been selected as one of four artists whose artwork is now featured on the cover of a new collection of journals in over 6,700 CVS Pharmacy stores nationwide.

September 14th, 2024 – A ribbon cutting ceremony marked the dedication of the Exchange Ambulance of the Islip's new building at 100 Carleton Ave. in East Islip in memory of Ex-Chief Gregory A. DeCanio.
